the-world nephilimBelakangan in interpretation (hermeneutics) developed a teaching which teaches that before Adam and Eve were created, God has created human beings do not have the spirit or called Nephilim. Human kind is what this group is also claimed as a kind man who marries a Cain, son of Adam. Cain's wife come from human without spirit. They say that when the flood occurred in the days of Noah, the Nephilim musnahlah these groups.
Is it so? Let's surgery revealed what God's Word (the Bible) in connection with that based on a comprehensive analysis based on the original language.
Are there people other than Adam & Eve were first created by God's reply?
A. Truth of the Old Testament:
Genesis 1:27
LAI TB, So God created man in His own image, the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
KJV, So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female he created them.
We prove the original language text, as follows:
Hebrew (Hebrew),
וַיִּבְרָא אֱלֹהִים | אֶת - הָאָדָם בְּצַלְמֹו בְּצֶלֶם אֱלֹהִים בָּרָא אֹתֹו זָכָר וּנְקֵבָה בָּרָא אֹתָם:
Translit, VAYIVRA '' Elohim 'ET-HA'ADAM BETSALMO BETSELEM' Elohim BARA '' OTO ZAKHAR UNEQEVAH BARA '' OTAM
Translit Interlinear:
VAYIVRA '(and He created)' Elohim (God) 'ET-human HA'ADAM) (BETSALMO (at) his image in the image BETSELEM ()' Elohim (God) BARA '(He created)' OTO (His ZAKHAR) () male and female UNEQEVAH () BARA '(He created)' OTAM (they)
Note the direct object marker 'ET in' OTO (him) and 'OTAM (them).
'OTO was' ET (direct object sign) followed by a third person pronoun suffix "single".
'OTAM means "they", in the plural form of men and women.
Genesis 5:2
LAI TB, male and female he created them. He blessed them and gave the name 'Man' to them, when they were created.
KJV, Male and female he created them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the days when they were created.
Hebrew,
זָכָר וּנְקֵבָה בְּרָאָם וַיְבָרֶךְ אֹתָם וַיִּקְרָא אֶת - שְׁמָם אָדָם בְּיֹום הִבָּרְאָם: ס
Translit interlinear, ZAKHAR () male and female UNEQEVAH () BERA'AM () He created them and He VAVAREKH (bless) 'OTAM (they) VAYIQRA' (and He called) 'ET-SYEMAM (name them)' ADAM (Adam) BEYOM) (on the day they were created HIBARE'AM ()
Human male (written in the singular), the human female (Eve) is also written in the singular.
John Gill in the Exposition of the entire Bible says, "not that man was created an Hermaphrodite, or with two bodies, back to back united together, and afterwards cleaved asunder, as the Jews fabulously say; but God made man first, or the male , out of the dust of the earth, and infused a rational soul into him; and then out of one of his ribs made a female, or woman, who was presented to him as his wife, so their species that might be propagated; and only one male and one female were created, to show that the Hereafter a man was to have at a time no more wives than one. "
Conclusion:
Based on the analysis of the Hebrew text, God created only one man (Adam) and one woman (Eve). This was evidenced by the use singular form in Hebrew grammar.
B. New Testament truth:
1 Corinthians 15:45
LAI TB, so it is written: "The first man Adam became a living soul", but the last Adam into a quickening spirit.
KJV,
And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a Quickening spirit.
Textus Receptus (TR), ουτως και γεγραπται εγενετο ο πρωτος ανθρωπος αδαμ εις ψυχην ζωσαν ο εσχατος αδαμ εις πνευμα ζωοποιουν
Translit interlinear, houtôs (so) kai (also) gegraptai ((it) written) egeneto ho (to) (the first protos anthropos (human) noun - (Nominative Singular Masculine)) adam (adam) eis (a) psukhên (soul / zôsan (creatures)) ho living eskhatos (last) adam (Adam) eis (a) pneuma (Spirit) (zôopoioun animating)
Conducted the first sin of Adam, and sin is called "the sin of Adam". Sins of a human infected by the first, Adam. The Apostle Paul was referring to a man who he gave the term "Adam's End" which is Jesus Christ, which destroyed "the sin of Adam".
Well, if first there is "other people", then of course there are people who are not infected by sin and his descendants do not have to sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. This obviously will conflict with the statement in Romans 3:23 the Bible which states that all men have sinned and lost the glory of God.
Luke 3:38
son of Enos, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God.
Note: Scripture sort of Adam as a child of God (God's creation) and not the name of another human being.
1 Timothy 2:13
For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
Conclusion:
The New Testament teaches that Adam was the first man created by God. From Adam's (and Eve, his wife) was born of human generations later.
Analysis of the Nephilim
The "Nephilim" is a human being, not like human beings, nor being interpreted as a "descendant of the angels who fell" or giant.
נפלים - Nephilim. The root of the word "Nephilim" is נפל - NAPHAL, "he fell". (Strong's Hebrew and Greek Dictionaries).
We examine the verse with the following:
Genesis 6:4
LAI TB, At that time those giants in the earth, and also at later times, when the sons of God went to the daughters of men, and women are giving birth to them; these people powerful in ancient times, people celebrated.
KJV, There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown .
Septuagint, οι δε γιγαντες ησαν επι της γης εν ταις ημεραις εκειναις και μετ 'εκεινο ως αν εισεπορευοντο οι υιοι του θεου προς τας θυγατερας των ανθρωπων και εγεννωσαν εαυτοις εκεινοι ησαν οι γιγαντες οι απ' αιωνος οι ανθρωποι οι ονομαστοι
Translit, hoi de Gigantes ESAB epi hêmerais test ekeinais GES kai tais ekeino met eseporeuonto hos hoi an tour huioi theou thugateras pros kai tos enthrônon Hêsan egennetas heautois eheinoi hoi hoi an aiônos Gigantes anthrônoi hoi hoi anomastoi
Compare with other translations:
Jewish Publication Society Tanakh (JPST),
The Nephilim were in the earth in those days, and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bore children to them; the same were the mighty men that were of old, the men of renown .
New American Standard Bible (NASB),
The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.
New International Version (NIV),
The Nephilim were on the earth in those days-and also afterward-when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.
Revised Standard Version (RSV),
The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men that were of old, the men of renown.
Biblia Hebraic Stuttgartensia (BHS), Hebrew with vowels,
הַנְּפִלִים הָיוּ בָאָרֶץ בַּיָּמִים הָהֵם וְגַם אַחֲרֵי - כֵן אֲשֶׁר יָבֹאוּ בְּנֵי הָאֱלֹהִים אֶל - בְּנֹות הָאָדָם וְיָלְדוּ לָהֶם הֵמָּה הַגִּבֹּרִים אֲשֶׁר מֵעֹולָם אַנְשֵׁי הַשֵּׁם: ף
Translit, "HANEPHILIM HAYU VA'ARETS BAYAMIM HAHEM VEGAM 'AKHAREI-Khen' Asher YAVO'U BENEY HA'ELOHIM 'EL-BENOT HA'ADAM VEYALEDU LAHEM HEMAH HAGIBORIM' Asher ME'OLAM 'ANSYEY HASYEM"
In manuscript Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia (BHS Hebrew) word that refers to the "Nephilim" is described again with another Hebrew word is "GIBOR":
According to the Hebrew Lexicon:
נפלים - Nephilim, is the plural of נפיל - NEPHIL, which comes from the root word: נפל - NAPHAL; properly, a Feller, ie a bully or Tyrant:-giant. (Strong's Hebrew and Greek Dictionaries).
גבר - GIBOR: Powerful; by implication, warrior, Tyrant: - champion, chief, X excel, giant, man, mighty (man, one), strong (man), valiant man. (Strong's Hebrew and Greek Dictionaries).
1) נפלים - Nephilim, the giant
KJV and LAI: translate the 'giants' (= giant)
NASB / NIV / RSV: menterjemahkah not the word "Nephilim" but mentransliterasikannya with the word 'The Nephilim'
Translation "Nephilim" become 'giants / giants' as it exists in LAI and the KJV is used because:
Refers to the Septuagint / LXX (Old Testament in Greek translation) is first to translate the word γιγαντες - Gigantes (giants). This translation is not too wrong, because it shows that the "Nephilim" is a large body size is punctuated by the word "GIBOR". (Next, will be explained below later)
2) גבר - GIBOR, those gallant
This shows that the "Nephilim" are people who have the physical strength or fighting a great genius.
3) השם - HASYEM (literally, the name) renown / famous people / popular
This shows that the "Nephilim" is famous for his evil. Thus, the meaning of paragraph 4 all is: at that time had no robbers, but then the existence of mixed marriages between the children of God (the righteous descendants of Seth) and human children (descendants of Cain is evil), and was born again people who are similar to the robbers.
Interpreters of the Bible as H.C. Leupold believes that "the children of God" are the descendants of Seth, the god of diceriterakan derived in the introductory chapter (Genesis 4:25-5:32). Leopold writes, "But who are 'the children of God' is? None other than, Sethites nation. "(HC Leupold, Exposition of Genesis, Vol. 1 (Ann Arbor, MI: Wartburg Press, 1942), p. 250). Descendants of Seth became a rebel and marry the indiscriminate with "the daughters of men," (descendants of Cain) with only the physical appearance, without regard to the deity. .
Mixed marriages that cause people to sin more and more!
More information about the words נפלים - Nephilim:
According to Hebrew Lexicon, which connects נפלים - Nephilim with roots that he נפל - NAPHAL "fall"; The meaning of the word "Nephilim", can also mean:
a) 'to fall' (= fall).
Perhaps all those who met them fell down due to fear them.
b) 'to fall upon / to attack' (= attack).
So, "Nephilim" means the attacker, bandits, robbers.
Both these meanings can be combined. So, the word "Nephilim" refers to the robbers who feared people.
Keil and Delithzsch Commentary on the Old Testament quotes Martin Luther interpretation which says that the meaning of Nephilim is, "tyrants" "they were called Nephilim because they fell upon the people and Oppressed them."
For that is why the JPST / NIV / NASB / RSV chose not to translate this word, and then 'mentransliterasikannya' alone with 'The Nephilim'. Further consideration JPST / NASB / NIV / RSV was not construe נפלים - Nephilim, because there are verses that can be linked to Genesis 6:4, as follows:
* Numbers 13:33
LAI TB, we also see where the giant people, good people who came from the giant people, and we saw ourselves as grasshoppers, and so did they to us. "
KJV, And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as Grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.
Septuagint, και εκει εωρακαμεν τους γιγαντας και ημεν ενωπιον αυτων ωσει ακριδες αλλα και ουτως ημεν ενωπιον αυτων
Translit, heôrakamen Ekei kai kai tous gigantas auton êmen enôpion Hosei akrides alla kai auton houtôs êmen enôpion
Compare with:
JPST, And there we saw the Nephilim, the sons of Anak, who come of the Nephilim; and we were in our own sight as Grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight. "
NASB, "There also we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak are part of the Nephilim); and we became like Grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight."
NIV, We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like Grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them. "
RSV, And there we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak, who come from the Nephilim); and we seemed to Ourselves like Grasshoppers, and so we seemed to them. "
Hebrew,
וְשָׁם רָאִינוּ אֶת - הַנְּפִילִים בְּנֵי עֲנָק מִן - הַנְּפִלִים וַנְּהִי בְעֵינֵינוּ כַּחֲגָבִים וְכֵן הָיִינוּ בְּעֵינֵיהֶם:
Translit, VESYAM RAINU 'ET-HANEFILIM BENEY' ANAQ MIN-HANEPHILIM VANEHI VE'EINEINU KAKHAGAVIM VEKHEN HAYINU BE'EINEIHEM
Note the word "Nephilim" was given to the peoples of Canaan, the tribe's good.
If we connect Genesis 13:33 Numbers 6:4 with this. We can see, serving translation JPST / NASB / NIV / RSV is more precise, where the word "Nephilim" is not translated as the Septuagint, but just copied the letters (transliteration).
NIV translation is more suited to the context compared with the Septuagint translation / KJV / LAI above which translates the word "Nephilim" with the giant (Gigantes). Although it by linking the word "Nephilim" with the other Hebrew word "GIBOR", pointed out that the "Nephilim" is huge. Tatapi the "Nephilim" is a human being.
Another consideration for the NIV does not translate the word "Nephilim" is a look at the context of the verse, Genesis 6:4 where it speaks of human sin is a moral, rather than talking about "body size".
In fact, if you knew this paragraph 4 is connected with the size of the body (as the Septuagint translate it), it was the Greek Gigantes (= giant) is not in accordance with the context or not related to the context.
On the other hand if the word "Nephilim" means robbers, it is more appropriate to the context of the verse.
Conclusion:
* The first man created by God was Adam and Eve. That's what I stated from the study of the Bible says.
* There is no other human being created besides Adam and Eve. New man is man, when he composed of spirit, soul and body. As stated 1Thessalonians word of God in 5:23, "May the God of peace sanctify you wholly and good spirit, soul and body be preserved blameless perfectly with the coming of Jesus Christ our Lord."
* If there are claims that there are people without a soul, would have violated nature. Because the human body without the spirit =. Not impossible, to say that the descendants of Adam marries a corpse? : P
* The "Nephilim" is a human being who is born of mixed marriages between the descendants of righteous living SET (the children of God) with the descendants of Cain (human children) who live mundane. They are not people who live outside the line of Adam. Moreover, described in other parts of the Bible that the "Nephilim" is also the name of the tribe's good, peoples of Canaan (Numbers 13:33).
* Common sense "Giant" is a mythical creature resembling a human, a big tall. But the 'giant' (England, Giant, the Greek Gigantes) on the Bible is not a fairy tale, nor a non-human beings, but ordinary people who have large body size than normal, for example, in another story we can find also a man named Goliath ( 1 Samuel 17:4) whose height is specified "six one-inch elbow", about 3.2 meters high with reference to the size of 1 elbow = 52.5cm.
Although perhaps not as tall as Goliath, we are not still find human beings like that today, especially with height more than the normal size, such as NBA basketball players who average body plays 2 yards?
